SPSS Statistics 18: A User-Friendly Interface for Statistical Analysis - Download It for Free Now

IBM SPSS Modeler 18 basically addresses analysts and statistical programmers who have acquired advanced knowledge on statistical methods and research tools. It has got a data editor which is very similar to any spreadsheet application thus enabling you to enter the data manually. This application comes with advanced statistical analysis features. This application supports descriptive statistics, specific tests, linear as well as generalized model processing. IBM SPSS Modeler 18 allows the trend forecasting thus enabling you to create models and run the spectral analysis and features quality control. All in all IBM SPSS Modeler 18 is a very handy statistical software application for business, government, research and academic organizations. You can also download IBM SPSS Statistics 25.

Additionally a "macro" language can be used to write command language subroutines. A Python programmability extension can access the information in the data dictionary and data and dynamically build command syntax programs. The Python programmability extension, introduced in SPSS 14, replaced the less functional SAX Basic "scripts" for most purposes, although SaxBasic remains available. In addition, the Python extension allows SPSS to run any of the statistics in the free software package R. From version 14 onwards, SPSS can be driven externally by a Python or a VB.NET program using supplied "plug-ins". (From Version 20 onwards, these two scripting facilities, as well as many scripts, are included on the installation media and are normally installed by default.)

PSPP is a good alternative to SPSS if you want basic statistics like frequencies and t-tests and you want them for free. If you already know SPSS there is no learning curve. This website goes into more detail about PSPP:

I have been working with SPSS and PSPP, the results are basically the same. PSPP just still misses some functions. However currently pspp added factor analysis and reliability analysis. I prefer using pspp because it is free (open source!!) software and is much faster than spss.

HCAT is not only the first reliable tool for coding complaints, it is the first tool to measure the severity of complaints. It facilitates service monitoring and organisational learning and it enables future research examining whether healthcare complaints are a leading indicator of poor service outcomes. HCAT is freely available to download and use.

Resolving disagreements about how to apply HCAT to a specific healthcare complaint led us to the development of a set of guidelines for coding healthcare complaints (box 1). The final version of the HCAT, with all the severity indicators and guidelines, is freely available to download (see online supplementary file). Figure 2 demonstrates applying HCAT to illustrative excerpts.Box 1The guidelines for coding healthcare complaints with Healthcare Complaints Analysis ToolCoding should be based on empirically identifiable text, not on inferences.
